UV-C light

The UV-C light is the smaller wavelength light among all UV types, that damages the DNA and RNA of microorganisms. As a result, bacteria, viruses and fungi can no longer replicate and, as a result, they die. Ultraviolet is an electromagnetic radiation that falls just outside the human spectrum. The wavelength of ultraviolet radiation is between 100 and 400 nanometers (nm). At 253.7 nm, the UVC light is most effective against viruses and bacteria. The gako UV-C sterilizers devices operate at this precise frequency.

Gako uses UV-C lamps that are located inside the devices, therefore are so-called “contained UV-C light”. The leakage of the UV-C radiation is very low or non-existent (≤5 µW/cm2), therefore they are safe for use in areas where people are present. In addition, only ozone-free halogen lamps are used, meaning that additional pollution caused by an increase in ozone levels in the room air is thus avoided.
